Ballet against pollution

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) KOBE (Japan), Oct. 8. Through the medium of ballet a New Zealand woman choreographer is uring Japan to fight the destruction of its environment by pollution. "I feel so strongly about this. After coming from the beauty of New Zealand it hit my husband and I very strongly when we arrived here," said Mrs Leigh Mann (formerly Leigh Brewer), from Wellington.

She is the choreographer for a ballet that had its premier today during the annual autumn cultural festival of Kobe.

Mrs Mann co-produced New Zealand’s national day performance at Expo ’7O in nearby Osaka. Returning to Japan in April, she was invited to produce a contribution to the Kobe festival.
