PARADE AT WIGRAM
Award to A.T.C. officer
Squadron Leader M. H. Scott, commanding officer of No. 24 Air Training Corps Squadron, Ashburton, will tonight be presented with a clasp to his Cadet Forces Medal at a parade at the Royal New Zealand Air Force base at Wigram.
The occasion will mark 24 years of service to the corps and will be only the second on which an open unit A.T.C. officer has received the clasp to the medal. The first such recipient was Squadron Leader R. Woodfield, who commanded No. 17 Christchurch Squadron. The presentation will be made by Group Captain T. A. McL. Morgan, commanding officer at Wigram. Taking part will be members of No. 24 Squadron, who are coming from Ashburton specially for the parade, and No. 18 (Avon) Squadron, whose commanding officer (Squadron Leader G. H. Kay) will receive the Cadet Forces Medal.
Candidate.—Mr Michael Pinkney, aged 27, a real estate agent, of Auckland, will be the New Democrat Party candidate for the Auckland Central seat at the General Election.—(P.A.)
