Evelyn Couzins Avenue
Sir, —I have motored daily through this area for 14 years. It has a character and charm which vary with the seasons as well as with each bend and which could well be emulated elsewhere by our town planners. I should be sorry to forgo the pleasure of driving through, but recognise the extreme hazards existing since it has developed into the main route between Marshland and the road tunnel. I frequently share the road, not only with cyclists, but with huge con-
crete mixers, lorries piled high with wool bales, and other heavy traffic, which is neither suited to such a narrow road nor to a residential area containing a children’s playground and a youth hostel. Bollards by the Flesher Avenue junction would give residents access from either end and would still provide a thoroughfare for pedestrians and cyclists. The road should be closed to all motor traffic. — Yours, (Mrs) ELSIE M. FARROW. Sept. 27, 1972.
