$4l00 FOR GAMES

The motor show held in Christchurch in August raised $4lOO for the Commonwealth Games, the show’s organiser, Mr M. Stott, said in Christchurch yesterday. The day the show ended, he had tentatively estimated that the games would benefit by about $3OOO. The show was open for three days and four nights, and closed on Sunday, August 6. During it, trade supporters sold 15 cars, four boats and five caravans, plus a wide selection of motoring accessories.

Mr Stott said that next year he hoped to bring a large display of working machines and machinery, including very large earthmoving machinery, to Christchurch. This show would also raise money for the Games, he said.
