Drainage Ed contracts

A major contract awarded by the Christchurch Drainage Board this week is for the Tuam Street stormwater outfall between Colombo Street and Durham Street. Waddell Construction, Ltd, with a tender of $36,604, won the contract. The only other tender was for $41,782.

Two contracts were let for the Travis Road sewer project. The first, for reticulation, was given to Mitchell and Rodgers, Ltd, its tender of $18,716 being the lowest of three ranging to $20,953. The other contract is for a temporary pumping station at Queen Elizabeth II Park, the $6525 tender of Blunt Brothers, Ltd, being accepted.

The board also accepted a tender of J. C. Haworth and Sons, Ltd, for $14,958 for the contract for the No. 14 pumping station, Bromley Road.
