Dougan in reserves (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. From an All Black first five-eighths little more than a month ago to the reserves for his provincial side, that has been the plight of J. P. Dougan. In the Wellington team announced yesterday for the final match of the season, against Canterbury on Saturday, Dougan has been relegated to the reserves. Wellington’s new All Black first five-eighths, I. N. Stevens, who beat Dougan for the All Black berth, will play in that position on Saturday in the match at Athletic Park. However, the Wellington selector-coach, Mr F. W. Ryan, said yesterday that his preference for the first fiveeighths position was never an issue. “It was a question of giving lan Stevens a further game at first five," he added. The team is: J. F. Karam; R. L. Gray, M. R. Sayers, G. B. Batty; R. S. Cleland, Stevens; D. J. Henderson; A. R. Leslie; N. B. Hawkins, D. W. Martin, D. M. Waller, G. C. Williams (captain); G. A. Head, P. S. Barrett, A. E. Keown. Reserves: Dougan, B. R. Niven, G. R. Wallis, K. S. Jones, G. H. Senior, K. D. Horan.
