PLUNKET SOCIETY

Govt reviews subsidy (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 24. A further review of the Government subsidy to the Plunket Society was now being undertaken, the Minister of Health (Mr Adams-Schnei-der said recently. A decision would be made "shortly,” he said.

The Minister said that the subsidy was reviewed last year, and an increase payable from April 1 this year was made.

Mr N. J. King (Lab., Birkenhead) asked if the Minister was aware that the Plunket Society had made a loss of $17,000 this financial year and estimated that the coming year’s loss would be about $30,000. Mr Adams-Schneider said this was one of the main reasons for the review at present being carried out.
