Hall history

Virtually all 5000 copies of the first printing of Mr W. J. A. Brittenden’s history of the Town Hall, “A Dream Come True,” have been sold, according to the Deputy Town Clerk (Mr J. H. Gray). “The first reprint of the book should come out on Thursday, and will be sold at functions in the Town Hall during the next few weeks,” Mr Gray said. If required, more editions would be printed.

The first 5000 copies of the book had sold out over the week-end. About 700 were sold at functions in the Town Hall on Friday evening and Saturday and the remainder were bought when about 20,000 people were shown through the complex on Sunday. “A Dream Come True,” is being sold at 95c and proceeds will go to the organ fund.
