Conciliation appointment

WELLINGTON, Sept 20.
Mr U. M. Devlin has been appointed a temporary conciliation commissioner, the Minister of Labour (Mr Thomson) announced today. Mr Thomson said that at present the conciliation commissioners were heavilv committed and so it had been decided to appoint Mr Devlin to the position for three months from next Monday. Mr Devlin retired last year as district superintendent at the Wellington labour office. As temporary conciliation commissioner he will be based in Wellington.
