Strahan not available

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. S. C. Strahan (Manawatu) has informed the All Black selectors that he is not available to tour Britain and France.

‘‘lt had been a hard decision to make, but four months and a half away at this stage is too much for a sheepfarmer,” Strahan said last night. He has had trouble finding someone to manage his farm in the hills of Kiwitea, near Feilding, and his wife is expecting their second child. Because of his decision, adjustments have been made for the final trials at Wellington on Saturday.

In the Possibles team for the game at 1.15 p.m., D. Waller (Wellington) replaces I. Eliason (Taranaki). Eliason replaces Strahan in the Possibles team playing at 2.45 p.m.

R. L. Sturt (Hawke’s Bay), replaces D. Waller in the reserves.

At 1.15 p.m., the Possibles team will be captained by S. M. Going and A. Leslie will be vice-captain. The Probables team will be captained by R. E. Burgess, and R. W. Norton will be vice-captain.

At 2.45 p.m., the Possibles will be captained by I. A. Kirkpatrick and the vicecaptain will be L. Colling. The Probables will be captained by A. J. Wyllie, and the vice-captain will be L. Davis.
