Dam blamed

(N.Z. Press Association, DUNEDIN, Sept. 17.

The Otago Catchment Board holds the Electricity Department responsible for the two floods which have played havoc with the board’s s3m protection scheme on the lower reaches of the Clutha River. It says the department’s Roxburgh dam influences river flows, and it wants the Government to pay for the flood damage. The Minister of Electricity (Mr Gandar) will be sent a copy of the report, and a plea for assistance.
