VALUER TO RETIRE

The district valuer for the Valuation Department in Christchurch (Mr A. P. Faulls) will retire tomorrow. Mr Faulls has been district valuer for 24 years; during this time he has observed enormous expansion of the city and surrounding local authorities and a sharp rise in the value of properties in commercial, residential, industrial and agricultural sectors.

He joined the Valuation Department from the State Advances Corporation. He will be succeeded by Mr G. E. Burns, of Dunedin, who will begin duties in Christchurch late next month.
