N.Z. grants raised

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 23. New Zealand would raise its voluntary contributions to a number of multilateral agencies, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Sir Keith Holyoake) today. The Government’s grant to the United Nations Children’s Fund would rise from $130,000 to $150,000; that to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees from $20,000 to $25,000; the grant to the United Nations Fund for Population Activities from $18,750 to $20,000; the International Planned Parenthood Federation from $6250 to $20,000; and the International Committee for the Red Cross from $6OOO to $BOOO. Sir Keith Holyoake said that, increasingly, attention was focusing on the part which population activities played not only in development over all, but in environmental matters.
