Canterbury players to fore

Canterbury table tennis players competed successfully in the North Otago championships at the week-end. In the all-Canterbury final of the men’s singles, the junior, M. W. Burrowes, beat the veteran, V. N. Brightwell, in straight sets. Both were successful in other finals; Burrowes with M. J. Warren, in the doubles and in the under 21 singles and Brightwell won the senior singles. Mrs T. May also had successful championships, winning the senior singles and losing only the singles final to the Internationa), Miss Y. M. Fogarty.
