School ploy

Pupils of Papanui High School will produce a musical comedy, "Calamity Jane,” from tomorrow evening to Friday. There is a cast of 80— fairly evenly divided among the forms —and an orchestra of 15, and 25 members of the staff are involved. The producer is a teacher at the school, Alan Bunn, who also had charge of the Peter Ustinov play, “Romanoff and Juliet,” two years ago. The lead is played by a seventh former, Frances Free, and David Ward, who is in the fifth form, plays Wild Bill Hickock.
