Play off

Because of casting problems which have arisen, the Canterbury Repertory Theatre Society has had to cancel its production of the Peter Nichols play, “Forget-Me-Not Lane,” which was to have opened in the Repertory Theatre on Saturday week. The play, a big success in London, was to have had its New Zealand premiere. It has been in rehearsal under the direction of Neta Neale for some weeks. The chairman of the Repertory Society’s committee (Mr J. A. Hendry) said last night that he hoped the play would go on later. The committee was due to meet on Wednesday, and would discuss the matter then.
