MAMAKU SOLD

(N.Z. Press Association)

NELSON, July 24. The Nelson coaster Mamaku has been sold for an undisclosed sum to a New Hebrides shipping company. The 926-ton vessel has been worked only once since she was tied up in July, 1971. In April she was put on the world market. The Mamaku has been sold to the Pacific Islands Transport Ltd, of Vila, New Hebrides, and it is believed she will be used for cargo trading between New Zealand and the Islands. The Mamaku was owned by the Anchor Shipping and Foundry Company, Ltd, which is part of the Union Steam Ship Company, Ltd.
