ANGUS SALE

(N.Z. Press Association » HAMILTON. July 23 The fourth annual sale at the Puketutu Angus stud of Mr W. Johnstone, held at Te Kuiti on Friday, was another record sale. The top price was $7OOO for Baker 218 of Puketutu, bought by the Atahau stud of Mr G. M. Chitty. Another bull went for $6500 to the West Australian Farmers’ Co-op, on account of Messrs K. and K. Curtis. The Taumarunui breeder, Mr D. Borck, paid $5OOO for a bull and $4500 was paid by Mr A. Bell, of Christchurch. Another $4500 was paid by Mr S. L. Redpath, of Opotiki, for a Puketutu bull. Some 36 senior bulls grossed $83,983, an average price of $2333, and seven heifers averaged $425. The total for the sale was $86,958.
