Latin-speaking contest
Results ot the annual Latinspeaking contest held recently by the Christchurch Classical Association were:— Seventh form.—Judith Geare (Waitaki G.H.S.) 1, Julie Kerr and Anne McNeur (Waitaki G.H.S.) (equal) 2, Sheryn Mason, Ellen Shaw (Avonslde G.H.S.I, Victoria Duncan. Lesley Roger (Christchurch G.H.S.), and Robin Carston (Rangl-Ruru School) highly commended. Sixth form.—Eunice McMillan (Christchurch G.H.S.) 1, Philippa Smith (Christchurch G.H.S.) 2, Carol McCready, Yvonne Mcßride (Christchurch G.H.S.I and T. Dennis (St Andrew’s College) highly commended. Fifth form.—Susan Drain (Christchurch G.H.S.) 1. Janatte Manderson (Christchurch G.H.S.) and Wendy Kelly (Villa Maria College) (equal) 2. Delwyn Ayers, Pamela Pretidy Roseman' Sykes (Avonslde G.H.S.), and Christine Hood (Christchurch G.H.S.) highly commended.
