Mail ruling
Smog was added officially today to the list of elements, such as snow, rain and sleet, that, traditionally, must not stop American postmen. The Postmaster-General (Mr Frederick Huleen) overruled a district manager who had decreed that collections and deliveries would cease when a smog alert was proclaimed by a Governmental agency. — San Bernardino, July 20.
