H. G. Coburn

Mr Harold Gordon Cobum, aged 60, who died in Christchurch on Monday after a long illness, was well known in many racing and trotting clubs. Mr Coburn was a member of many clubs throughout New Zealand including the Canterbury Jockey Club. He was also a steward at the Rangiora Trotting Club for two years. Mr Coburn owned the Pinehaven Restaurant in Kaiapoi—one of the first licensed restaurants in the South Island.

During World War n Mr Coburn served in Italy and Egypt with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force and was a member of the Returned Services Association.
