Plans not settled
Manaroa. which ran a creditable fifth in the final of the Inter-dominion Championships in Brisbane in early June, is to spell in Sydney in the meantime. His owner, Mr C. J. McLaughlin, who returned to New Zealand on Sunday, said last evening he thought the climate in Svdney was more suitable for Manaroa. Plans for Manaroa have not been settled. “Australian reports that he will miss the New Zealand Cup in November are incorrect. His future racing depends entirely on his progress in the next few weeks,” his owner said last evening. Manawaru, which has not raced for several months because of a leg injury, is “all right,” Mr McLaughlin said. “Till we start jogging him it will be hard to tell how he will go,” he said.
