Police find bag

The red airlines travel bag snatched from a shopkeeper, Mr J. W. Crosbie, after a struggle in a Spreydon street on Thursday evening, has been found by the police. The bag, containing $l5 of the $320 in it at the time it was snatched, was found on a vacant section in Rosebery Street, not far from the Bletsoe Avenue garden where a yellow coat, known to have been worn by the thief, was found soon after the attack. Rosebery Street and Bletsoe Avenue are parallel to each other and run off Simeon Street, where the incident occurred. The police believe that the thief, who made off down Bletsoe Avenue after snatching the bag from Mr Crosbie, doubled back through vacant sections on to Rosebery Street. Mr Crosbie was leaving his shop at 6.30 p.m., with the day’s takings in the bag, when the incident occurred.
