Red Vicar in record run

The champion Western Australian pacer, Red Vicar, became the first horse to pace a mile in better than two minutes at Albion Park, Brisbane, last Saturday night. Driven by the Sydney remsman, L. Moulds, he earned $2250 when he recorded Imin 59 3-s&ec. well inside the previous best of 2min 0 4-ssec recorded 12 months ago by Rocket Glenfern.

Red Vicar’s trainer, V. Murphy, said the horse’s future would be decided late this week. The American trainer, S. Dancer, who is interested in buying Red Vicar, did not arrive at Albion Park to see the time trial.
