(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright* FORT LAUDERDALE, July 21. An elderly couple who alleged that a transfusion of the wrong type of blood ruined their love-life have been awarded $27,500 damages. The couple, Mr and Mrs L. Piccirillo, sued Memorial Hospital, in Hollywood, alleging that Mr Piccirillo was given the wrong type of blood in June 1969, sending him into shock and requiring a month in hospital. Mrs Piccirillo, aged 62, testified that she and her 64-year-old husband had sexual relations four or five times a week before his operation. Since the operation, she said, her husband goes to bed early and they have relations only once every five or six weeks. The couple have been married 35 years.
