Partners, registered surveyors and consulting engineers. During World War I, Mr Dqvis served with the Royal Flying Corps. He was one of the first 100 pilots trained at Wigram by the Canterbury Flying School. After the war, he married and settled for a time at Aka-
taa, where he is still well known as the patron of the Akaroa Golf Club. He was a member of the St Albans Masonic Lodge, the Christchurch Golf Club, and the Canterbury Officers’ Club. In professional life, Mr Davis was well respected and was president of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors from 1951 to 1955. For his services to the profession, he was awarded a Coronation Medal and made a fellow of the institute. He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
