Gog gallops well
"The Press" Special Service HASTINGS. The good galloper, Gog, showed his fitness for the Winter Cup trial with a sound gallop at Hastings yesterday morning, with his stablemate. Master Morgan The course proper and the plough were both Soft. On the course proper. Gog started from the six furlongs and picked up Master Morgan at the half-mile, which they ran in 53 3-ssec. the last three furlongs In 41sec. The six furlongs took Gog Imin 20sec. Leon continued his preparation with a solo gallop over half a mile in 55sec, the last three furlongs in 41sec. Civil Defence, a last-start maiden winner, ran five furlongs in Imin 6 3-ssec, the last three in 41 2-ssec. Civil Defence will be hard to beat in the Carnarvon Hack on Saturday.
Mr Spy loafed over five furlongs in Imin 10 l-ssec, but showed more interest in his last three, which he ran In 41 3-ssec. He then skipped confidently over three hurdles.
Hautokitoki was ahead of Moist over six furlongs in Imin 23sec, the last three in 43 l-ssec. On the plough. Tiger Rag ran half a mile in 50sec, the last three furlongs in 38sec.
