SHIPS QUEUE

f.N‘ Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. July 18. The Island trader Moana Roa, which entered Calliope dry-dock in Auckland on April 13 for what was to have been one week's work, is still there as a result of an industrial dispute and later a go-slow. She is not expected to be floated out until next week. The Department of Maori and Island Affairs, owner of the ship, has now given up estimating her completion date, and is making day-to-day checks. The ship was first delayed at the dock by a strike by employees of Mason Engineering, Ltd, who were working on her. This strike lasted from April 20 until June 21. A go-slow and numerous stop-work meetings have delayed her since. Seventeen ships are waiting to use the dock.
