SOME GOOD RISES ON EASIER NEW ZEALAND MARKET
The tone of the New Zealand share market remained generally easy in quiet trading yesterday. However, strong buying interest in one or two stocks resulted in good rises and a number of traders improved.
Freightways gained a net 10c at 230 c after rising as high as 232 c in Auckland.
Progressive was boosted 7c to 292 c after the annual report. British Office Supplies jumped 20c to 230 c on the release of the annual report. U.E.B. eased 1c to 107. Sales were made down to 106 c and turnover in the scrip remained high. Fletcher recovered 1c to 185 c as did New Zealand Steel at 86c.
The finance companies were mixed with General Finance and Marac a few cents higher but C.S.I. was under pressure losing 2c at 126 c. A.C.I. gained 10c to 280 c, in the overseas section after the annual reviews comprehensive review of activities.
