Generalissimo Francisco Franco took a giant step toward his retirement yesterday by designating the VicePresident of the country to take over temporarily as President in case of his death. A decree published in the official State bulletin on the thirty-sixth anniversary of his uprising against the republican Government said that the Vice-President could run the country in case Genieralissimo Franco, aged 79, 'was no longer around.
