Contest off

(N.Z. Press Association! AUCKLAND, July 17. The 1972 “Rose of Tralee” contest which was to be decided in Auckland on Wednesday has been cancelled by the promotor, Mr T. McNamara, because of events in Northern Ireland.

He said that the hundreds of Irish people who had supported the final banquet ball for the last six years were concerned about “home” and were not in the mood for celebration. Mr McNamara said he hoped all entrants this year would re-enter next year.
