Australia has replaced Japan as New Zealand’s thirdlargest export market, the annual report of the Depart-! ment of Industries and Commerce tabled in Parliament on Friday disclosed. Exports to Australia rose 11 per cent last year to a total value of $105.8m or more than 8 per cent of New i Zealand’s total export rev-i enue. Goods sent to Japan drop-' ped 4 per cent to 103 m, partly because of a fall in wool buying. The report showed tnat| Britain remained New Zealand’s best market by far, taking goods worth $377.2m. In second place came the! United States, where in the year ended March 31. 1972, trade rose $11.5m to $197.7m.
