Waiho No. 1 dry
Drilling operations in Waiho No. 1 were abandoned when drilling samples and cores taken from the well clearly indicated that basement had been penetrated, the New Zealand Petroleum Company, Ltd, announced. The results of logging operations confirm that no prospective hydro-carbon-bearing formations or zones of associated interest were encountered in the well, which has now been plugged and abandoned at a depth of 12,298 ft.
