New club applied for

A request to the Canterbury Rugby League’s board of control for a one-team club to be formed was shelved at the board’s meeting last evening.

Mr R. E Terrall. a former senior player from Auckland, wrote that he had sufficient players—Maori apprentices—to form an under-19 team. He asked for advice on how to form a club.

There was little enthusiasm among board members for a new club to be formed, at least this season.

“This la Just a team; It ahould be liaised with a club until It has time to get Itself in order and perhaps affiliate as a cHTb next year,” said Mr W. L. Prendergast. “I doubt if we should accept a club affiliation from one team.” said the chairman (Mr M. R. Clinton) and it was left to the emergency committee to meet Mr Terrall.
