WELLINGTON, July 17. The Urban Public Transport Council has called for applications from urban pas-senger-transport firms which seek assistance for the financial year, said the chairman of the council (Mr R. J. Polaschek). The sum of slm has been made available to the council for assistance in the form of loans and grants for capital expenditure. Eligible projects might include, for example, the purchase of new vehicles, servicing equipment, and fixedpassenger facilities which improved the standard of service. said Mr Polaschek.
