LUCKY SUIT

Sue Walker, of “Move Over Mrs Markham” is proud to admit that her dashing knicker-bocker suit is a hand-me-down. She admired the red and black, diamond-patterned stage outfit on Nancye Hayes, who was playing the lead role in “Bom Yesterday” in Adelaide, and told her so. Miss Walker thought no more about it and returned to Melbourne to her own stage job. “Then I got hepatitis and had to go to hospital,” she said. “Soon after I returned home a parcel arrived from Nancye with this suit in it. What wonderful uplift that gave me. I felt better immediately.” Miss Walker wore it when she arrived in Christchurch yesterday with a black roll-neck sweater and knee-high black boots.
