WELLINGTON. On a slushv ground at Athletic Park, the touring California Grizzlies Rugby team was beaten, 23-4, by New Zealand Universities on Saturday. For Universities, G. Mourie (2), G. Kane and D. Syms scored tries, and W. Lewis kicked two conversions and a penalty. D. Olson scored a try for California.
