Squash titles to N.I.

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. Both the men’s and women’s New Zealand squash rackets titles went to North Island players on Saturday. L. Greene (Hamilton), captain of the New Zealand teams in Australia in 1969 and 1970, beat N. Barbour (Henderson), 9-6, 5-9, 2-9, 10-9, 9-1, in a tense men’s final, after Barbour had held match point at 9-8 in the fourth.

The women’s championship went to C. Fleming (Epsom-

Eden), who beat J. Webster (Manurewa), 9-3, 3-9, 9-3, 9-5. Two lesser titles were won by Canterbury players. L. Skurr, of the High School Old Boys’ club, won the men’s B grade, beating L. Butterfield (Otago University), 10-8, 6-9, 6-9, 9-6, 9-1. He finished the match well on top, showing little sign of a hard week’s play. Miss M. Holland (Sumner), seeded second in the women’s B grade, reversed the result of the South Island final two weeks ago by just edging out Mrs K. Graham (Bumside), 5-9, 9-5, 7-9, 9-4, 10-8.
