Policemen gaoled

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, July 16. Two policemen convicted of burglary and theft were each sentenced to 12 months imprisonment when they appeared in the Supreme Court in Hamilton.

Alan David Moss, aged 27, and Robert Leslie Dennison, aged 28, had both earlier pleaded guilty to two joint charges of theft and one of burglary. Dennison also pleaded guilty to a further theft charge. The offences involved goods worth $386.40 and were committed while the two men were on duty in patrol cars. They were convicted in the Magistrate’s Court and were sent to the Supreme Court for sentence.

Mr Justice McMullin sentenced them to 12 months imprisonment on each charge, the terms to be concurrent.
