$35,000 for Games fund
(N.Z. Press Association) | AUCKLAND. . The Auckland-Barbarians i Rugby match at Eden Park on April 23 raised §18,411-30; for the Christchurch Com-i monwealth Games fund. A cheque for that amount was sent by the Auckland Rugby Union to the New Zealand Rugby Union yesterday. Altogether, the Games fund is expected to be swelled by more than 535.000 by the three special matches played. Rugby.—Horouhenua has approved a proposed inter-union club competition at senior A level between the Manawatu and Horowhenua Rugby Unions next season.
