Chinese Gooseberries are dioecious plants (male and female flowers occur on ! different plants) so it is imperative to plant either a male and a female plant or a grafted pair. Blackcurrants benefit from the inter - planting of one or two cultivars such as Costwold Cross and Goliath. Grapes, gooseberries, citrus. brambles, passion fruit land tree tomatoes are all self-fruitful and do not require planting of more than one plant. Where listings of suitable cross-pollinators have been given they have generally been condensed to cover but a few of the more popular varieties where often there are quite a number of suitable alternatives.
