Baghdad Note favourite

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. Baghdad Note is a surprise early favourite for the $50,000 Metropolitan Handicap (13f) at Randwick on October 2. First charts on the EpsomMetropolitan double were released yesterday. Baghdad Note, winner of the 1970 Melbourne Cup, heads the list with Gunsynd and the Adelaide Cup winner, Wine Taster, on the second line, and Breathalyser, Silver Sharpe, and Tiromai on the third line.

Baghdad Note, which has raced only twice this year because of breakdowns, has been given equal second top-weight of 9-2 with the triple Derby winner, Silver Sharpe, and the Stradbroke winner, Triton, for the Metropolitan. Gunsynd, seeking his second Epsom win, heads quotes for the Randwick mile, ahead of Triton, Charlton Boy, All Shop, Latin Knight, and Longfella.
