Although the situation is confused, New Zealand and Singapore officials believe the
21-member Chinese party will not catch the Air New Zealand flight leaving for Auckland on Thursday. Air New Zealand is still holding seats for the party, but the Chinese appear to be sticking to their original instructions from Peking to remain in Singapore until Saturday. New Zealand table tennis officials in Wellington have contacted Peking, asking that the team be allowed to leave on Thursday to arrive in Auckland on Friday, and play the first match of its itinerary on Saturday night. The Chinese’s playing schedule in Singapore has already been extended by an extra exhibition match to be played today. This will be the fifth night they have played since arriving last Saturday morning. Holes-in-one.—Two * players holed in one on country golf courses recently. A. S. Lees did so at Lincoln's 132-vard ninth, using a 6-iron, and O. Milne got his ace at Rangiora, on the 161-yard thirteenth, also using a 6-iron
