Ballycastle is fit
“The Press’* Special Service WANGANUI.
Ballycastle looked to have overcome his stone bruise when he worked stylishly at Wanganui yesterday and is in the right order for the Parliamentary Handicap at Trentham tomorrow. The Takanini mare, Black Charm, also gave a sound exhibition over six furlongs. Fast work took place 25 feet out on an easy No. 1 grass. Ballycastle ran five furlongs with Dennakoi. They had the pace on all the way and finished on terms in Imin ssec. the last three in 39 3-ssec.
Black Charm was running on solidly at the finish of six in Imin 21Jsec, the last three in 39isec. She might be hard to beat in thp Parliamentary.
The Trentham maiden entry, Vienna Boy, was shading Menray after half a mile in 54sec. They were not hurried over the final stages in 41sec.
Cobb’s Call, under a good hold, and Tainui. which had the outside running, were on terms after half a mile in 52 2-ssec, the last three in 39 3-ssec. Cobb’s Call should be at peak for his Trentham assignment.
