'Peace' call

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 10. The president of the Manufacturers’ Federation (Mr H. Saunders, of Dunedin) today called for peace between the farming and manufacturing sectors of the economy. He told the Wellington Rotary Club he was concerned when manufacturers and fanners got into public conflict. “Both have much to give each other; both sectors are complementary to the New Zealand economy. “Farmers sometimes forget that manufacturers pay six times as much taxation as the farming sector. Both have to develop if New Zealand is to develop.” said Mr Saunders.
