Greenpeace to rest

The crew of the Greenpeace 111 protest yacht is going to Rarotonga for a rest after a prolonged period close to the bomb test zone.

The Greenpeace 111 was within 30 miles of the centre of the bomb test zone for 30 days until it was damaged in a collision with a French mine-sweeper.

This is the first message to reach New Zealand from the Greenpeace 111 since she entered the bomb test zone more than six weeks ago.

It came in a airmail letter from the owner of the protest yacht, David McTaggart, to Miss Anne Marie Home, in Hamilton yesterday. The letter dated July 2, was given to a French officer on the tug which towed the yacht into Mururoa and later posted airmail from Tahiti.
