Boys' Brigade trip to Pass
Reservations on the Boys’ Brigade excursion train to Arthur’s Pass next Saturday were closed last evening after more than 800 seats had been reserved. The- steam-heated train will consist of 14 carriages, the maximum for the Arthur’s Pass.
“It is unfortunate we are turning some away, but if there is sufficient demand another trip may be organised later in the season,” the excursion organiser (Mr W. F. Bishop) said last evening. The excursion has been organised by the Canterbury battalion but each company is organising its own activities at Arthur’s Pass. The chief ranger (Mr P. Croft) has suggested trips to take and is endeavouring to arrange illustrated talks throughout the day at the park headquarters.
