Traffic plan move opposed
Because of the extensive investigations that led to its adoption, the Paparua County Council is opposed to any alteration in the Christchurch master transportation plan. The finance committee reported to a meeting of the council last evening that it had considered the implications of the decision by the Christchurch City Council to amend the plan as it affected the central city, and of the likely effect of these charges on the plan as a whole. Members had expressed concern at the city council’s action, the committee reported. The council agreed that it would not make any contribution to the cost of alterations to the plan.
