Milk price review

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, July 3. The price of milk would undoubtedly be reviewed when the change to metric measure bottles had been completed, the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Carter) said today. The introduction of 600 millilitre bottles to replace pint bottles will begin in most centres this month. The 600 ml bottle will contain 5.6 per cent more milk. No change in the price of milk is contemplated at present, Mr Carter said. “The subsidy on milk will have to be raised when bottles get bigger, but this will also be reviewed when the conversion has been completed.”
