Mock bomb at French bank

(NZ PA -Reuter —Copyright! PERTH, Julv 3.

About 50 students and protesters laid a mock H-bomb on the steps of a French bank in Perth today, in protest against the French nuclear tests in the South Pacific.

The students, carrying a banner inscribed. “The Black Wizard of the Council of 13 Wizards,” marched about 300 yards to the Banque Nationale de Paris, and placed the 4tftlong “bomb” and six black wreaths on the steps of the building. The leader of the demonstration. Ross Hope, aged 19. said that the “bomb” symbolised what the French were doing to the Earth. “They are killing it,” he said. Two protesters had their loaded water-pistols confiscated by policemen.
